namazu ナマズ / 鮧

鮧のない土地に鮧が生じれば、洪水が起こるという。関東の地には鮧が古来いなかったが、鮧が現れると果たして洪水が起こった。その後も漁師が他の魚をとれないほど大量に発生し、大きいものは５、６尺に達した。１０年を経て漸減していったという。奇妙なことだ。
